Origin of the Fculty of Science and Arts (Sajir)
The nationalization movement of higher education projects covered all regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including most governorates. The nationalization plans took into consideration to make universities beacons of light and civilization and a driving force to develop local communities. This perspective goes in line with the vision of his majesty the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, with regard to comprehensive development, with a focus on the benefit to Saudi citizens in every part of the country. It was intended to ensure equal distribution of development projects and privileges to encourage citizens to settle in their respective areas and develop them rather than migrate to large cities. Today, Shaqra University is one of the projects that reflects this resettlement attitude in general, and so does the College of Science and Arts (Sajir), being a part and parcel of the local community at Sajir since 1414/1415H. Moreover, this fact intensifies our sense of responsibility toward the university as well as the community, particularly since the focus of development now is placed not mainly on huge budgets or old reputation but rather on the individual and collective efforts of cadres.
We pray to Allah to provide us with guidance and stamina to succeed in our endeavor, and to assist us in delivering our message and fulfil our mission.
