Shaqra University (SU) is among the newest higher educational institutions in Saudi Arabia, established through a royal decree and operating under the auspices of the Ministry of Education. Founded by Royal Decree No. 7305 on 3/9/1430 AH (24/8/2009), SU is a testimony to the Saudi government's commitment to advancing education in general and higher education in particular.
In alignment with the national educational objectives, SU is dedicated to fostering national talent, equipping graduates with essential skills and expertise to meet the demands of the labor market, and promoting scientific research and graduate studies. Its mission supports the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 by addressing societal challenges and contributing to sustainable development.
SU has outlined a clear vision, mission, and objectives, developed through a rigorous and systematic approach. A strategic plan guides its path, ensuring SU keeps pace with the rapid advancements in education, and adheres to standards of excellence, leadership, and quality.
SU is committed to broadening educational access by expanding its intake of secondary school graduates and implementing diverse educational models. As part of its Ninth Development Plan, SU will also establish new colleges to cultivate a well-prepared national workforce. Currently, SU operates 24 colleges across various governorates and centers located to the west and north of Riyadh.
