College History

The College was founded in 1425/1426 H. The Institute of Health for Girls provided a two-year academic plus half year training program to award the diploma certificate. 

The institute upgraded into the College of Health Sciences in the academic year 1428/1429 AH. The system of study was three years academic and a half year of internship which granted a middle university degree. 

The College of Health Sciences for Girls joined the King Saud University in 1428 AH. The program duration got extended to four years of academic and one-year training in order to grant a bachelor's degree. 

On the commencement of Shaqra University, the college came under its authority in 1430 AH with the operation of the girls' section only. 

The Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences was inaugurated in the College with the induction of male students in 1431 H. 

The Department of Physical Therapy and Nursing got started for boys in the year 1433 H.
