The College of Nursing at Dawadmi (current name) is one of Shaqra University colleges, which includes two departments - Nursing and Medical Laboratories. This college was established in 1413 AH in the city of Dawadmi under the name of an “Intermediate Health Institute” affiliated to the Ministry of Health. In 1428 AH, that institute developed into a “Medium Health College” granting a diploma in nursing and public health. After that, Royal Decree No. 11032 was issued to include all colleges and health institutes with the Ministry of Education, and accordingly, the college joined to be affiliated with King Saud University under the name "College of Health Sciences". Less than two years later, the honorable royal decree was issued by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz - may God have mercy on him - No. 7305, dated 3-9-1430 AH, to establish Shaqra University, so that the college would move and become one of the colleges of Shaqra University with its current name "College of Nursing at Dawadmi". |
