About the Unit
Depending on the mission of the Faculty of Sciences and Humanities in Shaqra University, the college administration considered that academic guidance is an essential in the educational process and ensures the establishment of a participatory relationship between the student and the academic advisor to ensure the success of the student’s academic career and educational goals. The first decisions issued by the dean of the college, out of his conviction of the importance of academic guidance, was the establishment of the academic guidance unit.
Vision:
Making the Faculty of Science and Humanities in Shaqra University one of the leading colleges in the academic guidance by providing academic guidance services to all students throughout the academic year.
Mission:
Helping the students to cope with difficulties, improve their competence, solve their academic problems, make appropriate decision regarding their choices, plan their future in light of their capabilities and the reality of their society, to reach the highest possible degree of academic compatibility
Objectives:
1-To Welcome the new students in the college, introduce them to the college and its scientific departments, and prepare them for the university life.
2-To Follow-up on students with difficulties in academic achievement.
3-To contribute on facilitating a sound study methods and time management skills for the students.
4-To provide the students with studies that are directly related to their needs and problems.
5-To help students cope with academics and improve their competence.
6- To follow-up on cases of students who apply to withdraw and postpone studies, or delete some of the courses
