Technical experience:
-Synthesis of various novel pyrene and anthracene derivatives which
involves Friedel Craft's acylation of pyrene and anthracene and forming
many heterocyclic rings linked to the flat anthracene/pyrene chromophores
in order to investigate the effect on their DNA intercalating properties.
- Synthesis of novel triazolopyridines with structural similarity to certain
Cox-II inhibitors to investigate the analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect.
- Synthesis of novel Pyrimidines with Promising biological activities like
anticancer, anti-thyroid, antihypertensive, antianginal and as
hypoglycaemic agents.
- Synthesis of novel pyrazoles with Antiviral profiles.
- Isolation and purification of Organic compounds using various
crystallization and chromatographic techniques.
- Structural elucidation of newly synthesized organic compounds by
interpretation of various spectroscopic techniques such as 1H NMR, 13C
NMR, Mass and IR spectroscopy.
- One of the founders & executive members of the 3DC (a drug discovery
mega project) which aims to discover new leads and new drugs via
collaborative work between Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Science &
Faculty of Medicine at Helwan University, Cairo, Egypt.
