The College of Pharmacy at Shaqra University was established following a Royal Decree approving the transfer of health colleges and institutes from the Ministry of Health to Saudi universities under their administrative, financial, and academic supervision. Based on the subsequent recommendations of university councils regarding the restructuring of these institutions, the College of Pharmacy became one of the academic colleges within Shaqra University.

As a relatively young institution, the college began its academic operations in the 2011–2012 academic year to meet the growing needs of the healthcare sector and to keep pace with the rapid advancements in the pharmacy profession at both national and global levels.

The establishment of the college reflects a strategic vision to advance the pharmacy profession beyond its traditional roles in drug formulation and discovery, expanding toward more comprehensive, patient-centered care within an integrated healthcare system.
