The Department of Electrical Engineering is one of the well-established departments in the College of Engineering since its inception. The department offers a Bachelor of Science program in Electrical Engineering designed to meet the challenges of local, regional, and global labor markets. The curriculum is structured to align with the latest technological developments in electrical engineering and communications.
The program aims to provide students with a solid and distinctive educational experience that combines theoretical knowledge and practical skills. It fosters lifelong learning, promotes professional ethics in engineering practice, and develops the essential competencies required for graduates to excel in their careers.
The Department of Electrical Engineering is committed to graduating innovative engineers capable of advancing in various fields of electrical engineering and communications, contributing effectively to labor market challenges, intellectual production, and community service.
To enhance students’ practical skills, the department takes pride in its modern, well-equipped laboratories that support all stages of its academic programs. In addition, the department is supported by a highly qualified academic team covering diverse specializations, including electrical engineering, renewable energy systems, power systems, power electronics, digital circuits, signal processing, digital systems, computer engineering, communications, microwave engineering, satellite communications, neural networks, image processing, and control systems.
- In 2019/2020, the EE program earned unconditional international accreditation from the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET for eight academic years (2018–2026).
- In September 2024, it also received full national accreditation from the Education & Training Evaluation Commission (ETEC), represented by the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation (NCAAA), valid until December 2027
