About the Committee
The educational affairs committee of the Faculty of Pharmacy ensures academic excellence in the College. It is the highest decision-making body for all academic matters. It consists of three units - (1) the Student Affairs Unit (2) the Curriculum Review Unit (3) the examinations Unit.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a course schedule and communicate with students and staff at the beginning of each semester.
- Approval of the allocation of classes for faculty members as recommended by the heads of departments.
- Planning and implementation of teaching courses according to the course description file.
- Addressing non-compliance with the description of courses if found in the course of teaching courses and providing advice accordingly.
- Gathering the reports of the decisions and submitting them to the Quality Development Committee.
- Conduct a training program on the academic process and curriculum for new faculty members.
- Conduct a training program for faculty members on the teaching of education.
- Preparation of statistical data on students' academic performance, repetition rate, grade analysis, success rate, class analysis, achievement of learning outcomes, and statistical information for the Quality Development Unit.
Tasks and responsibilities of Student affairs unit

Fulfill the admission procedures for new students of the program.

Conduct orientation program for the new students.

Register students for courses at the beginning of every semester following the requirements.

Address student grievances, disciplinary issues and resolve them.

Allot staff academic advisor to students.

Track progress of student academic performance and counsel accordingly through academic advisors.

Approve student excuses based on acceptable reasons with evidences.

Coordinate student scholarships/stipend with the university.

Evaluate the equivalency of courses completed by students from other universities/ other programs seeking admission in college of pharmacy.

Prepare the lists of students restricted from attending the exams and list of graduates.

Coordinate the graduated students for job placement and related activities
Tasks and responsibilities of Curriculum review unit

Develop policies and procedures to strengthen the educational system of the program.

Review and update curriculum periodically considering recommendations from quality development committee.

Handle the issues concerning the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program requirements, vision, learning outcomes, and balance of courses, and makes recommendations to the Dean of Pharmacy college and academic affairs unit at the university concerning it.

Prepare program specification and report in consortium with respective head of the department and submit to the quality development committee.
Tasks and responsibilities of Examination control unit

Develop policies and procedures of conducting examinations.

Prepare templates of question paper and forms related to examinations.

Prepare schedules for examinations and conduct them.

Allot invigilator and collect reports on conduct of examination.

Receive and submit the evaluated answer scripts and all other examination related documents to the quality development committee.

Address the malpractices/cheating by students during examination and take appropriate action.
