About the Committee
The Quality Development Committee is committed to establishing and ensuring quality in all activities of the College of Pharmacy in line with the vision and mission of the University. The committee consists of three units - (1) the quality assurance unit (2) the evaluation unit (iii) the accreditation unit.
Responsibilities
Tasks and Responsibilities of Core committee

Develop policies, procedures and yearly plan for academic, training, research and other administrative activities.

Meet periodically with all members of the committee and ensure proper functioning of its activities.

Provide guidance to staff on quality related documentations and ensure their maintenance in timely manner.

Prepare handbook for students and staff using documents of the policies, rules and procedures of different committees.

Conduct orientation program on process of quality and accreditation to new staff members.

Periodically submit report about accreditation activities to the Dean, College of Pharmacy and Dean of development and quality, Shaqra University.
Tasks and Responsibilities of Quality Assurance (QA) Unit
-
Develop, review, update and implement standards as provided by national and international accreditation bodies.

Educate and encourage stakeholders’ viz., staff and students to provide feedback for quality improvement.

Review and update program specifications
-
Prepare, review and update annual program report, and self study reports periodically to ensure quality of the program.

Follow up with accreditation unit and implement the recommendations of internal and external evaluators.
Tasks and Responsibilities of Assessment unit

Plan and execute assessment of quality reports and documents periodically.

Develop, review and update assessment tools.

Acquire and analyze the data from assessment tools and prepare statistical report.

Analyze and recommend strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT).

Acquire course reports from academic affairs and assess their quality before submitting to accreditation unit

Assess the achievement record of ILOs as per the course and program specifications.

Assess the academic performance of staff.
Tasks and Responsibilities of Accreditation Unit

Coordinate with accreditation bodies/agencies and submit documents for accreditation.

Collect and file the documents related to quality and accreditation, periodically and systematically.

Prepare and compile the activities of the college and present to steering committee for feedback, improvement and approval.

Recommend necessary changes for quality improvements based on evaluator’s report.

Apply to the accrediting agency on prescribed forms and submit all the required supporting documents.

Plan and prepare the schedule of visit by evaluators of accrediting agencies and follow up with their recommendations.

Identify important issues on course reports and present to the academic affairs committee for further action/improvement.

Mission
The development and quality commitee seeks to ensure high quality in all educational, research and administrative practices in the college to make maximum use of all the college's resources and resources and with the participation of all employees in the college to meet the needs of the society and the requirements of the labor market according to national standards.

Obtain institutional accreditation, program accreditation from the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Accreditation, and some international accreditation bodies.

Supporting and encouraging excellence through the creation of awards for excellence in teaching, scientific research, community service, and administrative work at the level of the college and its scientific and administrative units.
