The establishment of the Deanship

The Deanship of Library Affairs at Shaqra University was established with the approval of the Higher Education Council at its (sixty-fifth) session held on (3/7/1432 AH) with Resolution No. (24/65/1432) to establish a Deanship for Library Affairs at the university, and it culminated with the approval of the Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Higher Education Council - may God protect him - with the honorable telegraphic directive No. (370409 / MB) dated (9/10/1432 AH). This is based on the belief in the role of university libraries in supporting and the educational and research programs and the development of culture and knowledge, and its important role in serving the University community. The Deanship of Library Affairs provides learning resources to university’s employees, including faculty, students, and researchers.

The Deanship of Library Affairs is responsible for technical, and administrative supervision, of all branch libraries associated with Shaqra university, including framing their general policies.  It also represents the university in local and international events such as book fairs, and exhibitions. The Deanship looks forward to implementing its plan with the support and patronage of His Excellency the President of the University, Vice Presidents to fulfill the information need of the user community.
