The College of Medicine is organized into academic and administrative units that work together to deliver an integrated medical curriculum across the full program duration. Our structure supports a smooth transition from foundational sciences to clinical practice, ensuring that students progressively build knowledge, skills, and professional competencies.
Basic medical sciences department (years 1–4)
The Basic Medical Sciences Department supervises the preparatory year and the basic science phase (years 1–4). It provides the essential scientific foundation required for clinical learning, covering core disciplines such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, pharmacology, and related fields. The department ensures that teaching, learning activities, and assessments in the early years are aligned with program learning outcomes and prepare students effectively for the clinical phase.
Medical education and clinical departments (years 5–6)
The Medical Education Department oversees the clinical phase of the program by coordinating and supervising the clinical departments and clinical training activities during years 5–6. This includes organizing clinical rotations, ensuring consistent delivery of clinical teaching across affiliated hospitals and training sites, and monitoring student progress in clinical competencies. The department supports high-quality clinical learning through structured supervision, assessment standards, and continuous improvement processes.
Internship year (year 7)
The final year is the internship year, which is supervised by the Internship Unit. During this year, interns undertake supervised clinical training in affiliated hospitals across major specialties to consolidate their clinical skills, professional behavior, and patient management competencies. The Internship Unit coordinates placements, ensures clear training requirements, monitors performance, and supports interns through evaluation, feedback, and guidance to ensure readiness for independent practice and postgraduate training.
