Orientation Program for New Students 2025/2026
As part of its commitment to preparing new students for integration into the academic environment and familiarizing them with the college’s systems, regulations, and academic programs, the College of Medicine in Dawadmi organized a comprehensive two-day orientation program on 24–25 August 2025. The program featured contributions from faculty members, administrative units, and committees, with a distinguished role played by the Dopamine Student Club, which presented an introductory lecture, guided tours, and mentorship opportunities for new students.
The program began with a welcome address by the Dean, Dr. Nemer Al-Otaibi, who introduced the college’s vision, mission, and objectives. This was followed by presentations on regulations and policies by Dr. Salman Al-Otaibi (Vice dean for academic affairs), the curriculum and credit-hour system by Dr. Ahmad Abdel-Naeem (Chairman of admission and registration unit), and the academic calendar and studying in the medical College delivered by Prof. Ashraf Hammouda (head of basic medical sciences).
On the second day, students attended sessions on student activities, electronic portals and databases, and study skills and time management, presented respectively by Dr. Mohamed Gamal (Chairman of the Student Clubs and Activities Unit), Dr. Hasan Nawaz (Chairman of E-Learning), and Dr. Inbaraj Dominic (Member of quality and academic accreditation unit).
A coffee break offered space for informal interaction between students and staff, followed by an academic advising session led by Dr. Mohammed Al-Dhubaibi (Chiarman of university advising unit), and a presentation on evaluation and feedback mechanisms by Dr. Imran Zaheer ( Phase coordnator).
The Dopamine Student Club played a key role in the orientation program through its active contribution. The club delivered an introductory lecture highlighting student activities and its role in fostering leadership skills, research, and community service. It also organized a guided tour of the college facilities, including lecture halls, laboratories, and learning resources, during which members answered new students’ inquiries and provided necessary guidance. In addition, the club launched the “Student Mentorship” initiative, pairing senior students with first-year students to offer ongoing academic and social support throughout the year.
The orientation program successfully created an engaging and supportive start for new medical students, fostering a sense of belonging, reducing first-year anxiety, and encouraging active participation in both academic and extracurricular college life.
