Introduction
This unit is responsible for the planning, organization, and execution of
community service activities offered by the college and its employees and students
to contribute to the development of society through effective health awareness and
medical services. The committee will also conduct periodic surveys of its
beneficiaries and stakeholders from the University's service areas to evaluate its
community health consciousness and medical services.

Active participation in community development and health promotion in the area by
• Encouraging faculty and students to integrate into society and recognize its
requirements.
• Providing training, educational, and advisory programs for healthcare
workers.
• Raising awareness and information among people and communities about the
importance of adopting healthy habits and practices.
Objectives
Increasing community awareness about the role of the College of Medicine in
producing new generations of doctors who will contribute to the development of
health initiatives in the area, enabling the community to support the College in
meeting the following objectives by-
• Coordinating research activities to address priority health issues in the region.
• Direct health education efforts to alert individuals and sections of society to
take the necessary precautions for preventing and combating communicable
and non-communicable diseases common in the area.
• Participate in CME programs such as seminars, conferences, and workshops
to improve the skills of healthcare workers.
• Provide scientific and professional consultations to various sectors and
bodies within the community to promote health services and solve urgent
problems.
• Establishing a successful partnership with various sectors of society.
• Improving the relationship between the college, institutions, and non-
governmental organizations (NGOs) interested in healthcare issues.
• Encouraging students and faculty members to engage in community service
through awareness campaigns and health convoys.
• Participation in community-interested events such as health days organized
by the World Health Organization and Ministry of Health.

Community service tasks and responsibilities
• Plan, organize, implement, monitor, document, and evaluate the community
health activities provided and shared by faculty and students, and prepare a
detailed report for submission to the college administration.
• Conduct community-based surveys to identify needs and attitudes toward the
College of Medicine in the area, as well as their expectations from the
College.
• Improving the college's relationship with different sectors of society by
offering appropriate environment for research through collaborations.
• Meeting the needs of the medical and healthcare community of the region
through programs offered by the college.
• Respond to all program and institutional accreditation requirements in
collaboration with the college Quality assurance Unit.
