College of Applied Medical Sciences in Shaqra

About Faculty

The college was established in the academic year 1425/1426 AH under the name "Health Institute for Girls." The study system consisted of two and a half years of coursework plus a training period, and graduates were awarded a diploma. Later, in the academic year 1428/1429 AH, it was transformed into the College of Health Sciences, with a study system of three years plus a training period, leading to the associate university degree. In the same year (1428 AH), the College of Health Sciences for Girls in Shaqra was affiliated with King Saud University, where the study system was extended to four years plus an internship year, and graduates were awarded a bachelor’s degree. Subsequently, in 1430 AH, Shaqra University was established, and the college became part of it under the name "College of Applied Medical Sciences in Shaqra," with a new department for male students added. The Department of Medical Laboratories Sciences was launched in 1431 AH, followed by the Departments of Nursing Sciences and Health Rehabilitation in 1433 AH. To this day, the college comprises these three departments and offers the following bachelor's programs:
1- Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Sciences
2- Bachelor of Nursing Sciences
3- Bachelor of Physical Therapy
Additionally, the college offers several other programs, including a Master’s degree in Clinical Laboratories and bridging programs in Medical Laboratories and Nursing.
