Functions of the Council of the Deanship of Scientific Research
While it does not conflict with the missions of the Scientific Council, college councils and department councils, the Council of the Deanship of Scientific Research is responsible for the following:
1) Proposing the university's annual research plan, and preparing the necessary draft budget for it in preparation for submission to the Scientific Council.
2) Suggesting the regulations, rules and procedures regulating the movement of scientific research at the university.
3) Approval of research and studies projects, follow-up of their implementation, arbitration and disbursement in accordance with the rules regulating that.
4) Suggesting means of regulating the relationship with the various research centers outside the university and cooperating with them.
5) Coordination of work between research centers at the university, work to eliminate duplication in their performance, and encourage joint research between departments and colleges to raise the efficiency and effectiveness of the use of available materials.
6) Recommending approval of the publication of the research that he deems to be published after arbitration in accordance with the rules of arbitration and publication at the university. ?
7) Encouraging faculty members and other researchers and urging them to conduct innovative scientific research, providing them with the means and research capabilities, especially those who are scientifically full-time, and enabling them to conduct their research in an appropriate scientific atmosphere.
8) Organizing the process of communicating with research centers outside the university, both local and foreign, and developing cooperation with them to benefit from everything that is modern.
9) Create an information base for ongoing and completed research at the university, and exchange research information with other universities and research centers.
10) Studying the annual report and the final account of the scientific research activity at the university in preparation for submitting it to the university’s vice dean for graduate studies and scientific research.
11) Supervision and follow-up of research funded by other sectors outside the university that fall within its specializations.
12) Forming specialized committees from among its members or from others as needed.
13) Studying what is referred to him by the university director or the university vice president for graduate studies and scientific research.
