About the Committee
A committee to ensure the ethical integrity of research tools applied at Shaqra University or conducted by one of its employees, and their observance of human privacy and rights, as well as animal rights and welfare.
In Order No. 7/B/9512, dated 5/18/1422 AH, the Honorable Ruler directed the formation of a national committee under the name (National Committee for Biomedical and Medical Ethics), under the supervision and management of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, which aims to set standards and ethics for biological and medical research. And follow-up its implementation, in order to improve and advance health, preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic and psychological aspects, taking into account human dignity, justice, benevolence and the preservation of rights for individuals and societies, in line with Islamic Sharia and the traditions and foundations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. and research institutes, in addition to relevant public and private agencies. The Honorable Council of Ministers Resolution No. 180, dated 9/6/1425 AH, obligated all research agencies and centers in the Kingdom to form a local committee for research ethics in each research institution under the supervision and control of the National Committee for Biomedical and Medical Ethics. In translation of the Council of Ministers’ decision, the Deanship of Scientific Research at Shaqra University took the initiative to form the Local Committee for Research Ethics on Living Creatures.
