The Cybersecurity Department was established on March 3, 2021, as an independent department reporting directly to the University President. Its establishment aims to implement international best practices and comply with the controls established by the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) to enhance the University's overall security posture.
Empowering Shaqra University to achieve a secure and trusted cyberspace that fosters growth and prosperity.
The cybersecurity objectives have been established in alignment with the cybersecurity vision and the outcomes of the activities outlined in the Current State of Cybersecurity section. These objectives are as follows:
1. Protecting Information and Systems at Shaqra University: Safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical information and information systems to ensure the University's continued ability to deliver services securely and effectively.
2. Reducing Cybersecurity Risks: Establishing the necessary culture, frameworks, and processes to address cybersecurity risks, enhance decision-making, and improve protection against cyber threats.
3. Promoting Cybersecurity Best Practices: Developing employees' cybersecurity skills and qualifications, raising cybersecurity awareness through multiple channels, and fostering a positive cybersecurity culture.
