Applied College

About Faculty

Shaqra Community College was established in 1425 AH and offered a range of programs across diverse disciplines. In light of the rapid global and local developments, and in pursuit of building the capacities and capabilities necessary to achieve the ambitious goals of Saudi Vision 2030, the Ministry of Education launched a comprehensive initiative to address the status of former community colleges within Saudi universities. This initiative aimed to utilize these colleges’ available resources to help align university graduates with labor market demands through transforming these colleges into applied colleges. Accordingly, the University Affairs Council, in its fourth meeting, issued Resolution No. (1442/4/9) dated 14/9/1442 AH, approving the applied colleges project. The resolution approved the conversion of community colleges and community service colleges into applied colleges and the transferring of the diploma programs offered by the university - whether directly through the colleges or through the Deanships of Community Service - to the applied college. Subsequently, Shaqra University Council, in its eleventh session held on 2-12-1442 AH, issued a decision approving the conversion of the university’s three community colleges, located in the governorates of Shaqra, Al-Dawadmi and Al-Quway'iyah, into a single applied college. The main campus of this college is designated to be in Shaqra governorate with several branches in the governorates located within the university’s geographic scope.
