Excellence in Statistical and Information Systems to Build a Knowledge-Based Society.
The Statistics, Information, and Decision Support Department is one of the University’s key departments, responsible for providing statistics and information on all aspects of the University’s activities to support decision-makers. It contributes to creating an environment that fosters innovation, analysis, planning, and future foresight. As part of the University Vice Rectorate for Development and Quality, the Statistics and Information Department serves as a central hub for comprehensive University information through collection, compilation, analysis, collaboration, and forecasting, in response to the needs of the University, its units, and its various programs. The Department encompasses all statistics, data, achievements, activities, and events related to the University, while providing performance measures and indicators and making them available to those who need them, both inside and outside the University.
One of the Department’s key strengths is its development of scientific methods for classifying all University-related information, as well as analyzing, documenting, and validating it using modern scientific approaches and standards. This enables researchers and stakeholders to access the required information easily and efficiently.
The Department produces this data and statistical information in both printed and digital publications, most of which are issued periodically, particularly on an annual basis. This facilitates direct communication between the Department and the University’s academic and administrative entities, the Ministry of Education, and other entities related to the University and the nation, allowing for the completion, exchange, and sharing of data and information.
The Statistics, Information, and Decision Support Department goes beyond managing available information; it also carefully and accurately anticipates future developments through analytical and survey-based studies that support decision-makers inside and outside the University. One notable example is the preparation of the University’s Annual Report, one of the Department’s most prominent annual publications.
The Statistics, Information, and Decision Support Department continuously strives to improve its performance and enhance the quality of its achievements in order to accomplish its strategic objectives. This is achieved through a dedicated administrative, technical, and knowledge-based team committed to delivering the highest level of performance in this vital and fundamental department within the University’s administrative and academic structure. Particular emphasis is placed on strategic areas such as enhancing the Department’s image and reputation, attracting distinguished personnel, developing mechanisms for data collection, analysis, and documentation, and establishing advanced data repositories and survey research centers. These efforts support the Department’s transformation into a supporting deanship or a specialized institute for statistics and information.
