The College of Sharia and Law

About Faculty

In accordance with the directives of the wise leadership and its commitment to education in line with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, the College of Sharia and Law in Shaqra was established by the decision of the Council of Universities Affairs No. (2/16/45) dated 14-02-1445 AH.

Since its establishment, the College has strived to activate its potential and capabilities and to enrich the experiences of its students, relying on the academic and intellectual expertise of its faculty members as well as on modern curricula and teaching methods. The College aims to meet the needs of various sectors and disciplines by continuously developing its programs and courses, and by introducing new ones that align with scientific and academic developments, labor market requirements, and the nation’s developmental needs.

The College also devotes great effort to serving and supporting the most important element of the educational process—the student—by creating an academic and educational environment that fosters the development of a well-rounded personality. Moreover, it constantly enhances and reviews its departments in terms of curricula, teaching methods, and academic programs. In addition, it gives special attention to extracurricular programs and activities that contribute to building the student’s character and refining their skills.

Vice Deanship

College Vice-Deanship

The College Vice-Deanship is an academic and administrative leadership position that serves as a key support arm to the Dean in managing the College’s affairs and overseeing the implementation of approved plans and programs. The Vice-Deanship is responsible for supervising administrative and academic units, ensuring the application of quality and academic accreditation standards, and contributing to the preparation and monitoring of strategic plans and performance indicators.

It also oversees areas such as statistics and assessment, student training, skills development for faculty members, staff, and students, as well as alumni affairs and communication. Furthermore, the Vice-Deanship focuses on the development of learning resources, maintenance of facilities, and improvement of educational equipment—ensuring an academic environment that supports the College’s mission and vision while enhancing the quality of its educational and research outcomes.

 

Vice-Deanship for Academic Affairs

 

The Vice-Deanship for Academic Affairs is an academic and administrative leadership position responsible for supervising all aspects of the educational process within the College. Its duties include overseeing student admission and registration, as well as monitoring the implementation of academic plans and curricula. The Vice-Deanship also focuses on organizing and following up on student activities and scientific clubs that contribute to developing students’ skills and shaping their personalities.

In addition, the Vice-Deanship works on developing and coordinating postgraduate programs in collaboration with academic departments, in alignment with the strategic goals of the College and the University’s vision. It also monitors the academic performance of both faculty members and students and provides the necessary support to enhance the educational process and achieve academic excellence.

 

Vice-Deanship for the Female Section

The Vice-Deanship for Female Students’ Affairs represents a leadership, administrative, and academic body responsible for overseeing all aspects related to female students within the college—both academic and administrative—with the aim of providing a distinguished educational environment that fosters creativity and learning. The Vice-Deanship follows up on academic matters concerning female students and works to address any challenges they may encounter during their academic journey.

The Vice-Deanship also plays an active role in promoting social responsibility and participating in initiatives that serve the community and the university environment. In addition, it supervises academic advising to ensure that students receive academic, psychological, and social support. Its duties further include overseeing research activities and contributing to the development of students’ academic and research skills in alignment with the College’s goals and the University’s mission.

Departments

Department of Law

The Department of Law is one of the academic departments in the College, striving for excellence and leadership in legal education and research to strengthen its position both locally and internationally. The department aims to graduate qualified legal professionals who possess scientific knowledge, practical skills, and ethical values within an academic environment that fosters creativity and excellence. It also works to prepare national cadres capable of meeting the requirements of the national framework and Saudi Vision 2030, while contributing to the development of the legal profession in cooperation with relevant professional and official bodies. Furthermore, the department encourages legal research that enriches knowledge and serves the community by addressing societal issues, in addition to providing professional and legal consulting services to business organizations in the Saudi market, thereby supporting sustainable legal and professional development.

Department of Sharia

The Department of Sharia at the College of Sharia and Law in Shaqra is one of the recently established departments at the university. It aims to provide a solid Sharia education that combines authenticity and modernity, integrating legal studies within an academic vision that promotes excellence in Islamic scholarship and research. The department operates under the support of the wise leadership, which gives great importance to Sharia education for its vital role in strengthening Islamic and national values and promoting moderation and social responsibility.
The department’s academic plan has been designed to merge advanced Sharia disciplines with modern legal courses, in line with labor market demands. This enables graduates to work in various professional fields such as judiciary, ifta (legal opinions), education, legal and Sharia consultancy, law practice, notarization, and other related areas.
The department believes that graduates equipped with comprehensive knowledge of Sharia, law, and contemporary developments are capable of contributing effectively to building a just society grounded in solid values—serving their religion and nation while supporting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

Department of Islamic Studies

The Department of Islamic Studies is one of the main departments of the college. It aims to achieve excellence in religious education and scientific research by combining authenticity with modernity and preparing well-qualified students both academically and professionally to serve society and promote Islamic values. The department also strives to provide accredited academic programs that keep pace with scientific developments and meet the needs of society and its various institutions.

The department works to equip students with the ability to engage with local and global developments and to enhance their academic and research skills. It also contributes to community service by promoting Islamic knowledge, fostering moderation, and addressing intellectual and behavioral deviations.

 

Units

Quality and Academic Accreditation Unit

This unit develops and improves academic and administrative performance in accordance with national and international quality standards. It ensures the achievement and maintenance of academic accreditation, prepares regular performance reports, organizes training workshops, and supports departments in implementing continuous improvement plans.

Main Tasks:
1. Implement and update quality and accreditation systems across the college.
2. Prepare periodic academic and administrative performance reports.

Strategic Planning Unit

This unit develops strategic and operational plans to enhance the quality of education and learning in alignment with the college’s future directions. It monitors performance indicators, analyzes data to support evidence-based decision-making, and coordinates efforts among departments to achieve shared goals.

Main Tasks:
1. Prepare and update the college’s strategic and operational plans.
2. Prepare improvement plans for the college.
3. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs).

Statistics and Measurement Unit

This unit collects, analyzes, and documents accurate and updated statistical data about the college. It provides reports upon request, develops performance indicators, and applies modern statistical tools to support decision-making processes in alignment with college's operational plans.

Main Tasks:
1. Collect and analyze statistical data related to the college.
2. Prepare the annual report and periodic performance indicators.

Skills Development Unit

This unit aims to enhance the academic and professional skills of faculty members, students, and administrative staff by organizing specialized training programs and workshops that improve performance and promote professional excellence within the college.

2. Develop the skills of faculty and staff in research, technology, and teaching.

Learning Resources, Facilities, and Equipment Unit

This unit is responsible for developing and maintaining learning resources and ensuring the optimal use of facilities and equipment to support teaching and research. It also provides technical support in e-learning and collaborates with the Deanship of E-Learning to implement related projects.    "Main Tasks:

Alumni Affairs Unit

This unit fosters continuous communication between the college and its graduates, helping them integrate into the labor market through training and continuous education programs. It also enhances alumni engagement and utilizes their feedback to improve educational quality.

Main Tasks:
1. Build and maintain an updated alumni database.
2. Organize events and meetings with graduates and employers.
3. Strengthen alumni engagement and loyalty to the college.
4. Track and analyze graduate employment outcomes.



Admission and Registration Unit

This unit manages all academic affairs of students from admission to graduation. It handles course registration, academic records, and class schedules while providing academic guidance and support in coordination with the Deanship of Admission and Registration. 

Main Tasks:
1. Process admission applications and coordinate with the university’s deanship.
2. Manage course registration procedures.
3. Issue and update academic records.
4. Oversee academic schedules and ensure policy compliance.

Student Clubs and Activities Unit

This unit enhances campus life by organizing cultural, sports, social, and volunteer activities that develop students’ skills and talents. It supervises student clubs, supports creative initiatives, and promotes leadership and teamwork among students.

Curriculum and Academic Planning Unit

This unit develops and manages academic curricula to ensure quality and alignment with modern academic standards and labor market needs. It evaluates academic performance, coordinates curriculum updates, and supports faculty in adopting modern teaching and assessment methods

Graduate Studies Unit

 

This unit organizes and coordinates master’s and doctoral programs, providing academic and administrative support to students and faculty. It promotes research through workshops and conferences and ensures the quality of graduate programs in line with international standards.

2. Provide academic and administrative supervision for graduate students.

Community Engagement Unit

 

This unit strengthens the college’s role in community service by organizing initiatives that improve quality of life and promote social awareness. It collaborates with local organizations and provides volunteer opportunities for students to enhance their civic responsibility and leadership skills.
