Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of the Riyadh Region, Shaqra University celebrated the graduation of its 17th batch of students. The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, university officials, and parents at the main lobby of the University Administration Building on the University Campus in Shaqra.
In his speech during the ceremony, the President of Shaqra University, Professor Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Al-Saif, emphasized that the sponsorship of the Governor of Riyadh Region represents an extension of the unwavering support that the wise leadership—may Allah support them—accords to the education sector. He noted that this support has enhanced the role of universities in preparing qualified national competencies in alignment with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
He added that today, the graduates stand on the threshold of a new phase, transitioning from academic attainment to the fields of work and productivity, urging them to pursue lifelong learning and contribute effectively to serving the nation.
For his part, the Dean of Admission and Registration, Dr. Sultan bin Fahd Al-Noumsi, stated that the number of graduates in the 17th batch exceeded four thousand male and female students across various specializations and academic degrees. He emphasized that this achievement reflects the determination and perseverance of the students, alongside the continuous support from the wise leadership. He pointed out that the graduates represent ambassadors for the university in their respective workplaces, carrying knowledge, values, and national responsibility.
The ceremony featured various segments, beginning with the Royal Anthem and a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an, followed by a documentary film highlighting the university's key achievements during the year. The event also featured an inspiring story of a student who was involved in a traffic accident that resulted in a disability, which he overcame through sheer determination. He then faced another health challenge after being diagnosed with cancer, yet he continued his journey with patience and willpower until achieving his dream of graduation, embodying a profound example of persistence and resolve.
The ceremony also included the graduation procession, a speech delivered on behalf of the graduates, and a graduation operetta that expressed feelings of pride and joy on this occasion. Furthermore, top honors graduates were honored, and commemorative photos were taken.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, university officials extended their deepest thanks and appreciation to the patron of the event for his gracious sponsorship, affirming that this patronage reflects His Royal Highness’s care for his student sons and daughters, and his continuous support for the university and the educational journey in the region.
