Shaqra University hosted on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, an awareness lecture titled "Protecting Youth from Extremism and Deviance." The lecture was delivered by His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid, Member of the Council of Senior Scholars and Imam and Preacher of the Grand Mosque (Al-Masjid al-Haram). The event was attended by the President of the University, Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Al-Saif, the Governor of Shaqra, Adel Al-Bawardi, alongside the University's vice presidents, deans, leadership, staff, and male and female students. The lecture was also broadcast live to the female colleges.
During the lecture, Sheikh Ibn Humaid emphasized the importance of enhancing intellectual awareness among youth, the necessity of adhering to moderation, and warned against the dangers of extremist ideologies and deviant behaviors. He underscored the vital role of educational institutions in shaping students' awareness, stressing the importance of collaborative efforts among the family, the university, and society to protect youth from intellectual and behavioral deviations while reinforcing positive values.
This lecture comes as part of the University’s ongoing efforts to promote intellectual awareness and foster intellectual security among students through various awareness programs and initiatives targeting all segments of the university community.
