Shaqra University Team Wins Second Place at the SEHA International Conference in Al-Khobar

A team of female students from Shaqra University won second place in the "Clinical Practice" category during their participation in the SEHA International Conference, which was held in the city of Al-Khobar under the patronage and in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province.

The university team's winning research project examines the impact of genetic mutations on the safety of cholesterol-lowering medications (statins). It aims to guide and personalize treatment for patients based on their genetic profiles, thereby reducing the risk of myopathy and maximizing therapeutic efficacy.

The university's winning team at the conference comprised the following students: Ghala Ghanem Al-Rowaidhan (Presenter), Rimas Metrek Al-Ghowairi, Gheida Oqeish Al-Howaimani, Shahad Shliweeh Al-Ghowairi, Seetah Falah Al-Harthi, and Kady Saud Al-Shalan, under the supervision of Dr. Abdulmohsen bin Humaid Al-Rahimi.

The "SEHA" scientific research competition is dedicated to supporting and encouraging scientific research. This year, more than 195 male and female students participated across various categories, where the submitted research projects underwent rigorous evaluation by an elite panel of specialists to ensure the quality and excellence of the work.
