Since its establishment, Shaqra University has been committed to continuous development and aligning its educational outcomes with labor market needs, in accordance with the latest developments in the Kingdom and the goals of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
The nursing specialization is considered one of the key contributors to Vision 2030’s objectives related to health and the healthcare system. The Department of Nursing Sciences at the College of Applied Medical Sciences - Shaqra also plays a vital role in supporting Shaqra University’s future development goals.
The department was established in 1432 AH and has since offered a general bachelor’s program in nursing sciences for both male and female students. In addition to its academic role, the department actively engages in community service through participation in various events, involving faculty members and students with different governmental entities such as schools, and in public spaces like markets and parks. These efforts aim to benefit society in various areas, such as promoting health practices and highlighting the role of nursing in providing healthcare to individuals, families, and communities.
The department currently serves over 300 students and is supported by more than 15 faculty members who oversee their education and training. At present, the department offers:
· A four-year general Bachelor’s program in nursing sciences, followed by a one-year internship training
