It is one of the premier departments at the College of Engineering, Dawadmi. It is designed to train mechanical engineers who can contribute to industrial progress and the sustainable development of the Kingdom as per Saudi Vision 2030 through a multidisciplinary approach that provides personnel with critical scientific background, technical knowledge and work place skills.

The department provides a strong academic curriculum integrated with sound practical experience. It includes various areas of mechanical engineering, such as energy, thermodynamics, applied mechanics, materials, manufacturing technology & systems etc. The program also emphasizes the development of students’ analytical and creative thinking capabilities, preparing them to apply modern technology to engineering problems.

The department has also a distinguished faculty having both the theoretical and practical qualifications and is updating the curriculum in line with local as well as international accreditating bodies criteria. It highlights as well the student involvement in graduation projects or applied research related to connecting between academic knowledge and industrial facts.
